Butterflies, Shawls and 'Sunshine Blankets' arriving today!

Good Morning and Welcome!

I'm very pleased to be showing you pretty Butterflies, Shawls and Blankets today so thank you for popping in!

First of all we have had some Butterflies fly in all the way from France.

'Roamin in the Gloamin' over on the MSE Knitting forum thank you very much indeed!
These will certainly be very useful over the next few weeks. Made in wonderful colours we definitely have
a great variety!

Then we have Butterflies and two Shawls from Jayne here in the UK.

Once again such beautiful Butterflies and I'm really pleased you have enjoyed making two Shawls for the Elderly. Let's take a look at them now.

Aren't they pretty! I love them thank you so much Jayne!

I recently had Squares and halves from Irene and Sally has been very busy assembling them for us.

She has put together two wonderful Shawls. I love the pastel colours very much.

Sally thank you for making these Squares & Half ones up. Beautiful Shawl I love it.

So delicate and feminine thank you!

Also Sally assembled a 'Sunshine Blanket' for us. Once again the Squares were from our 90 year old 'SIBOLETTE' Irene.

Reminds me of the Sea and Sand.

Not only has Sally assembled these Squares for me she has also made a beautiful Patchwork Blanket and a Knitted Shawl. How kind of you thank you so much.

The border finishes it off beautifully Sally. A complete surprise thanks very much!

A Knitted Shawl for the Elderly too. I love the button on this Shawl, it finishes it off so well and look at the striking edging! What a wonderful gift for an Elderly person. I'm very grateful to you Sally. Thank you.

Also some Butterflies were enclosed in the parcel. Thanks for making them Sally.

Well what a bumper delivery today once again!

My work slows down over the Summer-I was wondering whether you needed any squares putting together into blankets? I'd be happy to help! x

to Elderly Residents in Care/Nursing Homes.

Would you like to help us?

We no longer accept Squares but we do accept

your Crocheted and Knitted Blankets. We also

accept Knitted and Crocheted Shawls.

Please Note.

Donations of Sunshine Blankets/Shawls/Butterflies can be accepted between these dates.

1st March to 30th November 2016. Thank you.

I am often asked if there are 'collection points' around the country. Some Ladies find the cost of postage too expensive. There is a way round this. Why not make your Sunshine Blanket and donate it to your 'local' Care Home? If you want to contact me for a a pdf 'label' I will willingly send it to you. You can do this on behalf of our Group 'SIBOL' if that would help you. On the understanding that you would send me a photo of your blanket and the name of the Home where you have donated it to. I can then count this in to our totals.

Lists of Care Homes are available by contacting me.

This would be a great way of getting Sunshine Blankets to the Elderly in other parts of the country and not just 'Birmingham'.

The Lost Stash by Sally 'Chunky Hooker'.

Whilst rummaging in the scrap cupboard, I heard a plaintive cry " She never looks in our little bag, Can you tell me why? " A voice replied, "We're old and tatty, A little bit worn out, Our colours dull, our fibres matted, Now don't give me that pout!" "But I want to be a 'Sibolette', I really, really do! To be part of a Sibol, Made by the lovely Sue. It's my destiny, my dream, my fate!" The voice was getting higher, "I may be old but it's never too late, I'm not ready to retire". "Oh gosh", I thought, That sounds like me, Slightly worn, with a dodgy knee. So I'm off to college, A Diploma to gain And the voices of the Lost Stash? "Sibolettes" they became!
