Squares arrive for our Challenges/Southbank Village Fair.

Good Afternoon and welcome!

It was so nice to pop round to see pippas45 this morning. We had a nice catch up and I came away with 125 Crocheted Squares from Grace the 80 year old Lady who is in sheltered accommodation with pippas mother. Grace loves making Crocheted squares for our blankets, she tells me she likes to help others and SIBOL is giving her such a lot of pleasure. Mr T. is away this weekend so I will be sitting down to put these beauties together. Thank you Grace!

Here they are.....

125 Squares from 80 yr old Grace. Thank you!

pippas45 also gave me a Square for our 'Festivals Challenge'. She has Crocheted 'The Balloon Festival'. Wonderful idea thank you so much. This Square really is interesting. Would you like to have a go? We really need Squares in as soon as possible. Here's the Link with details.

pippa 'Festivals Challenge - Balloons' Thank you!

In the post this morning I received two Squares for our special 500th Blanket. We are celebrating making 500 Sunshine Blankets and we have a party theme going on. So why not join us? I am inviting you to make a 6" Square with a 'party theme' Crocheted or Knitted on to the Square. This could be streamers, balloons, champagne glass. We could even have a cake I suppose. Use your imagination or even 'Google' and come up with a Square for our celebratory Blanket.

Here's a Link over to RAVELRY.

Let's take a look at the Squares now.

First of all we have a Square from Liztelf. Thank you so much. This Square is brilliant Liztelf!

You have made a splendid job too creativegranny. They are both going to look stunning in our Blanket.

Thank you all so much. The Squares from all of you are just perfect!

Can I remind you please! A message from Maria-Jesus

Hello all,
There is a brilliant event going on over the bank holiday weekend at the Southbank Centre, a village fair with cake  competition, dog show and…….. some knitting ;)

Our group, the London Knaughty Knitters will have a stall, where we will teach people how to knit making squares for a SIBOL blanket.

Everyone in the group has been knitting like crazy over the last few weeks and we already have enough squares for two blankets, and we are not at the event yet!!!

If anyone is around London the Bank Holiday weekend, we would love to see you, make a square together, a butterfly, or just have a chat ;)
Also if you would like to pop by with your squares, we would be very happy to add them to our blanket or send them on to Sue.

Where and when:
Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th August
Southbank Centre
Our group will be in the Makers Market from 11-4pm, that will be in the Herb Garden at the Riverside Terrace.
Here is the link to the Southbank centre where you can see all the activities going on, it is going to be something else!!
