Squares from Singapore.

MARY E.W.  - Mary, thank you so much for leaving comments on Slide.com and reviewing our SIBOL Slide Show! It was very nice of you to take the time to comment. Much appreciated!

Hello Everyone!

I'm so happy you are visiting SIBOL today. I have some beautiful Squares all the way from Singapore to show you today. Arien156 over on Flickr has very kindly sent me them. They are so lovely. Before I show you the Slide Show......

May I just thank you all so much for your wonderful comments over on Flickr, Mrs Twins and SIBOL on the Ta - Dah of  'Splendor in the Grass' - named by the one and only The Garden Bell/Kate. It's a lovely name Kate and I am so very grateful for the beautiful yarn you sent over from the USA. Please check Kates' blog out. She writes her posts beautifully, there is always something new to see too whether it's a new ripple or indeed some of her beautiful home-dyed yarn which she kindly sent over for SIBOL. So thanks Kate.

I also want to say that it is the end of the 'Blue and White' Challenge today.  If you have Squares on their way please don't worry they will be in plenty, of time. I have had some lovely shades of Blue come in and really nice patterns too. I know from emails that you've enjoyed the Challenge.

I have been asked by a couple of Ladies to 'do a count of Squares!'. Well as today with the Squares from Singapore I have now received 730. I have actually used 400  Squares in 16 'Full Blankets' and another on it's way to show you. So counting that one Squares used will be 425. Squares over will be 305.

A lot of these are lined up for the Challenges. I have some for Men's Blankets, Blue and White, Strawberries and Cream, Children's Picture Blanket.

I just want to say I am doing this on my own 'at the moment' so I'm just fitting these in when I can. I usually Crochet in the evenings while watching the TV. I really enjoy what I'm doing and in no way do I feel as though things are getting on top of me. What with the Slide Shows and all the Admin that is needed for SIBOL you might think I'm stressed.  I'm not. If I was, I wouldn't be doing it.

SIBOL has given me a purpose now my Daughters are older, it's given me an interest and I know it has for you too.  One thing I worry about is not showing you your Square made up in a Blanket 'quick enough' if you now what I mean. I hope you all understand that I'm doing it at my own pace and you know I will be using every Square received. It might mean you have to wait a while.  If you are okay with that, that's fine.

For instance Luna sent me some white Squares a few months ago.  Well I have been waiting for some more white ones to come in.  This happened a few weeks ago Nettie very kindly sent me some gorgeous white ones which I have put into the Blanket with Lunas' Squares. They haven't been forgotten 'just waiting'. I only have the edging to do now and I've been doing it between Challenge Blankets.

As we are in the middle of Summer (well here in the UK anyway! Sorry you folks in Australia brrrr.......)
I thought I would open up a new Challenge to you all. This is going to be 'The Seaside Challenge'. Now I have already had some Starfish Squares come in and it has been suggested by a  couple of Ladies that we do a 'Sea/Seaside Challenge'. Good idea?

For this you could do anything you like as long as it has something to do with the Sea/Seaside. Starfish, Boat Square, Picture of a Sandcastle Square, Icecream Square. Use your imagination Ladies! Or even a small Blue Ripple Square depicting the waves of the Sea.

It should be very interesting...... Deadline.  Well I'm putting this as 31st August. A couple of months time. There is going to be a limit this time. Could you only send please up to  4 Squares at the most.

I'm so amazed at how popular SIBOL has become.  I know I have said this many, many times. Just from my idea back in January, you can now see how many Blankets I have made. I did originally set myself a limit of 6 Blankets. Well I have certainly  done more than that.

It's just that I want you to understand about the Squares. I have no problem at all receiving your Squares whether you want to just send any 6" Square or whether you want to take part in the Challenges. That's absolutely fine by me. Please if you have any queries at all, please don't hesitate to contact me sueatpigsty@talktalk.net

Now........Dear Arien156 you have been waiting long enough for your Slide Show. Sorry I have been rambling.......

Introducing Arien156  all the way from Singapore your beautiful Squares and thank you so...much!

Thanks again Ladies, thanks for visiting me here in the UK Today!

Hugs Suex

' Squares from the USA!' and a Ta - Dah!

Hi Everyone!

I would like to show you some Squares today from Debi Y U.S.A.  They are just lovely and will be so useful for the Challenge coming up shortly.  I was thinking of the Man's Blanket! I really love the colour combination Debi has used. I think they all go really well together.  Like any Square we make the variety of colours really makes a difference, you will see in Debi's Slide Show. Sit back and enjoy!

Thanks so much Debi I really love your Squares I hope you have enjoyed your Slide Show!

Now I want to ask you all a question.  I had a lady over on Flickr asking today 'where to get ideas for Squares from'. Now I suggested 'Jan Eatons  200 Block Book'.  But I was wondering which book you use, or in fact which internet site.  I have suggested she pops over and reads the comments so I'm hoping  you will help her out!

I have a Ta - Dah for you today also.

Introducing 'SIBOL No. 16' 'Flower Blanket No. 2'.

I have to say a 'Big Thank You' to my special friend over in the USA. The Garden Bell has very kindly donated some of her 'home dyed yarn' for the SIBOL Project.  I am so....grateful to her.  It was such wonderful yarn to work with. I thoroughly enjoyed working it up. The colours I felt were 'spot on', so thank you so much Kate!
I would like to thank everyone involved in making this Blanket. If you don't see your Flower Square this time, it will be coming up. So please keep looking.

I'll say Good night to you and thanks for visiting SIBOL and PLEASE tell us some good books and internet sites!

Hugs Suex

Hi Everyone!

Well it's certainly been a very interesting week for me.  You've been sending me the most beautiful Squares. First of all Pertinitaco (Flickr)  in Spain. She has made gorgeous Squares for the 'Blue and White' Challenge.  She's used some textured yarn.  I 'think' it's called ''eyelash' yarn.  On Monday I was reading my regular mail from Rachel's Crochet Spot She was doing an article on using 'eyelash' yarn which I found terribly interesting.  If you want to pop over to her please do I have given you the link. As you know my Husband bought me some last week and I know it is a bit tricky to work with, so her tips were quite useful.

Thank you so much  Pertinitaco   for the Squares.  Pertinitaco  is a regular contributor to SIBOL and she really enjoys the Challenges. Particularly looking forward to the 'Strawberry and Cream' one which is coming up. By this we mean Squares in the colour of 'Strawberries and Cream!'. Yummy!!!

Here's your Slide Show Pertinitaco.  I hope you enjoy it. Sit back everyone and just take a look at Pertinitacos' Squares!

I have also had some really pretty Squares come in from one of our 'team bloggers' Louise.  Louise very often makes us Squares and I am most grateful to her.  She loves Crocheting and today I am showing you her 'Blue and White' Squares.  Four Squares in the most beautiful patterns.   As I have said many times before I just love this combination.  I have found today it was better to take some photos inside the house as well because it is so bright and hot outside. The photos weren't coming out particularly well.  I do hope you enjoy Louises' Slide Show. The Squares have come from Gibraltar.

Thanks Louise.

I'm very happy to tell you we have a new 'team blogger' on board  SIBOL.  Welcome Isolde! Isolde is absolutely loving  SIBOL.  She's been working very hard trying out new patterns for our  SIBOL  Squares! She has written her own 'team blog' and I do hope you'll go back a couple of posts to read it. She has detailed pattern information for you. Here's Isoldes' Squares on her Slide Show, thank you for brilliant colourful Squares!

Many thanks Pertinitaco,  Louise and Isolde.  Your Squares are wonderful, I love them all.
I am most grateful to you all. Thank you.

Busy day for me today!

Hi Everyone!

It's so.....hot here in the UK again today! What's the weather like with you?

I'm very happy to be showing you some Squares which have come in today firstly from the UK. Margaret very kindly sent me these Squares.  I've made you a Slide show Margaret.  I had to wait a while today because it was so bright outside that I couldn't get a good shot.

Margaret has sent a beautiful 'Blue and White' Square. Now this Square has a lovely flower Crocheted on. Now I'm wondering whether to put this into the 'Blue and White' Challenge or put it into the 'Flower Challenge'.  I think.......I'm going to put it into the 'Flower Challenge' Blanket so this will go into Number 2 which I'm doing now. Then we have a very pretty 'Strawberries and Cream' one.  Isn't this just wonderful? So unusual I just love it.  Then Margaret has sent over a 'Picture Square', just look at that! Also a lovely Granny Square which will be great too in future blankets.  Of course I couldn't wait to take some photos of these Squares to show you and of course I'd be happy to receive some more whenever you feel like doing any.  Thank you so much.

Please sit back and look at Margaret's beautiful Squares, I love them.

Secondly, I received a package from a Friend living in Germany. Farruska (Flickr).  Not only did I receive some Squares fron Farruska but her Mother very kindly made me some too. Her Mother lives in Portugal and I was really touched by her kindness in helping me.  Both lots of Squares are just so beautiful and I thank you so...much.  I'm over the moon with these Squares too.

Not only do I like all the Squares I have received today, but I absolutely love them!  I do hope all three Ladies enjoy the Slide Shows I have made for you.

Thanks so much.

Hello Everyone!

I do hope you have all had a pleasant weekend. It's such a beautiful day here today so I took a walk outside with Marion119's Squares. From the UK, today. Some will be absolutely perfect for the Flower theme (which actually has now finished) and some too for the Blue and White them.  Marion119 has made some really lovely Squares with lots of Flowers. I just love the Blue and White combinations as I have said before many times.

If you are popping in to see Squares which you have sent please go back posts. We post nearly every day so there is plenty to see and the pages turn very quickly.

9 new SIBOL-squares

Hi everybody,

I'd like to show you the 9 squares I sent to Mrs Twins last friday.

It was again so much fun making them! Trying out new patterns, in these quite sunny patterns and colours.

Let us look at the new squares:

You've already seen the three in the top row:
• the pop wheel motiv (with a little twist by me, because the square turned out a bit too small)
• a tweedy granny
• a bold rose, attached on a granny square
(all patterns by Sarah London & these three are already shown here and at Flickr)

on the second row:
3 sunburst granny square, one of my recent new favourites. I used 3 times the same colours, but in different variations

in the last row:
• fretwork (a pattern by Jan Eaton, 200 crochet blocks)
• three-colour square (also by Jan Eaton, 200 crochet blocks)
• big flower (a pattern by Drops Design)

I hope you like them as much as I enjoyed crocheting them.

Pictures of every square later today at Flickr, in the SIBOL-group.

(all about my other WIP's and our everyday life in general at: www.everydaylife-isolde.blogspot.com)

See you soon!

Saturday Squares from 'Down Under!'

Hi Everyone!

Happy Saturday to you all.

My Postie delivers on a Saturday and I'm so pleased he did today because he has brought Margarets' Squares!  She lives in Australia.  So the SIBOL Squares have travelled a long way! I've given them some
fresh air and took them out into my Garden where they joined my Geraniums for a 'photo-shoot!' ha.ha.

Margarets' Squares are just so beautiful.  She's sent some for the 'Blue and White' Challenge which are simply gorgeous. I do love this colour combination and she's sent others too which you'll see for yourselves! They simply are beautiful.

I do hope you will go back posts when you visit SIBOL, because I put everyones' Squares on to SIBOL when they arrive so you can see them all. I know you enjoy the Slide Shows because I have some really wonderful comments.  I thank you all so much.

Margaret, thank you.  Please make yourself a cuppa, sit back and enjoy seeing your Squares in my Garden!

Have a good weekend everyone!
